For best actor no matter how I look at each actor in a main role. All of them deserve to win. Whoever does win will deserve it so much. I have seen all these movies; all are excellent.
In every movie each actor and actress made their own movie(s) outstanding. I'll cry for the ones who lose because they really all deserve to win.
If Johnnie To loses to me its a loss for the industry. He is so talented and really deserves a big win this year. Good luck to him for all his movies and for director...screenplay etc.
Okay on a personal note if I truly had to pick a winning actor...... as much as I admire them all...my vote would go to Lau Ching-Wan. Watch him in Lost In Time and see just how well he truly did in this movie. Of all the performances by these actors his I can't forget.

And I love Lau Ching Wan, so I could live with that, I guess. Though I thought Andy was amazing in Running on Karma. I would really hate to pick between those actors. All of them listed are just excellent!
And, yes, to not honor Johnnie To would be terrible!

Jan I loved Andy in Running On Karma; but get Lost In Time and then tell me you wouldn't agree.
Simon Yam was excellent in PTU..
I am only going with the feeling that still comes across me with Lam's role. It has to have been his best.
Cecilia deserves to win too; but for Lost In Time not for Running On Karma. I loved her in both but ahhhhhhhhhh you just have to see how good the movie is....

My problem is that I like so many of the actors/directors/movies! I wouldn't want to be on the panel....mental meltdown, here I come! And I just realized that I'm more interested in these awards than I am with the Oscars. This may be because I've watched most of these movies, and very few of the Oscar ones! Weird!
Anyway, Andy and Cecilia have each won the film critics award, so this might be a sign of how things are heading. Maybe...not necessarily...oh, rats! I give up!!
Quote from Andytown:
Andy Lau & Cecilia Cheung were conferred at the 10th HK Film Critics Association Best Actor & Best Actress respectively yesterday with the movie Running On Karma. The 3rd award given to ROK was Best Screenplay. Johnnie To won Best Director with the movie PTU. Best Film was given to IA2

If I had to choose... Ching Wan Lam but Andy will win...Cecilia Cheung but won't doubt if Carina Lau wins....I'd give best movie to Lost In Time but IA3 will probably win...Johnny To best director......but won't be surprised if Andrew Lau wins....Chapman To Man-Chat supporting actor but won't be surprised to see Tony Leung Ka-Fai win.... I love all the actors this year and to me they just really should all walk away with an award.
Something Kirk Douglas recently said.....and it made perfect sense. Why should any loser feel sad?????? Dozens and dozens of movies are done every year. Only 5 are chosen ..... you are recognized over even bigger names for movies that thousands of people may not agree with even being nominated..... You are still in the limelight; win or lose......so be happy really happy just being nominated. The heck on whether you win or not.
