Multiple Spammer Posts - Guest Posting Currently Disabled

As our web site gets more popular and the traffic increases, the spammers/junkmail advertisers are trying to post more as Guests. The spam/junkmail ad posts are deleted daily. However, some new ones pop up quickly. Ignore the spam posts and they will be deleted soon enough.

Usually the spammers or junkmail ads are advertising links to pornography, gambling, drugs like Cialis/Viagra and so forth. Avoid clicking on their links as the spam web sites often contain viruses, trojans, annoying pop-up ads and spyware. If nobody clicks on their links, they will not be motivated to continue spamming if there are no results for them. Even if you are curious what they are spamming about, resist the urge to click on their links.

A new spam-reduction/elimination feature is being worked on to automatically prevent at least 85-90% of the illegitimate posts such as spam/junkmail/scams from getting through.

It happens everywhere; just make sure you never click on their links. Sad how the spammers just tend to be an annoying trend on websites now-a-days. Guess people just need something to do.

Some of the spammers are posting jokes (as a Guest) and adding their spam links at the bottom of the post. It's a sneaky way of spamming. However, I will catch them and remove their spam links. Once the new anti-spam features are in place, a lot of these problematic posts from spammers will be prevented automatically. I am working on some new code and functionality to curb this problem.

If the joke is funny, I might keep the post while cleaning out all of the spam links. But if it's not funny or bad in some way, the spam post will be deleted completely. Everyone on here should be an adult anyhow (at least 18 years old) so the jokes shouldn't be a problem even if they tend to have an adult or sexual focus.

Usually, I do a daily spam check and remove most of the offending spam posts within 24 hours. There's no need to inform me before this time frame because I will catch most of the spam posts and remove them within a day or two. If you see any posts from spammers that are offensive after two days of it being posted online, feel free to let me know and I can remove them.

Hi everyone,

As some of you might have noticed, one spammer from Abdijan (Ivory Coast of Africa) has spammed us with dozens of scam posts. Simply ignore them and their posts if you see them. They will be removed quickly. I deleted all of the spam/scam posts and have disabled Guest posting until more effective Anti-spam functions are in place.

Feel free to Register and join us. It only takes about 20 seconds to sign up for a free Member account. Registered members can always post as usual. This will prevent abuse on the discussion forum because most of the spammers post as an unregistered Guest.

Yes, there's a spammer called Lulu44 who has been spamming. I'll be deleting all of her posts and banning her. If you get any Private Messages from her, just ignore or delete them.
